She managed to safely remove the wand from the desk which instantly broke the hold of the wand over the mansion. After a long struggle, the cleric managed to smite Astabar and just then the ranger Nahl stepped through the portal and the druid Arya nearly followed, but chose instead to approach the desk from the side, avoiding the portal. Meanwhile, unknownst to them, Bartimus was locked in a life and death struggle with the tortured remains of Astabar, who had become a horrifying undead thing after dying when he himself became trapped in the ethereal plane. With the curse of Astabar’s manor lifted, Arya, Hugo, Nahl and Bartimus left the now quiet manor and returned to town where they prepared themselves for the journey to Athfeland. Surprised by the occurrence, the other party members decided to stay well away from the wand and instead investigated the study and read through Astabar’s books looking for more information. Bartimus the Cleric stepped forward to touch the wand but slipped through an unseen portal to the ethereal plane. There they found the Wand of Wonder they had come to the manor to find suspended in an arcane circle. Ive seen it in 'The Mad Manor of Astabar' which is a fun puzzle one-shot (which is also what the STL model was made for).
THE MAD MANOR OF ASTABAR MAP ARCHIVE
Using the key to unlock the concealed door the party found themselves in Astabar’s study. The Map-a-Week archive also has these two maps of Barovia and the Village of Barovia available which I have gathered are from the 2006 v3.5 Expedition to Castle Ravenloft module. Inside they discovered a great sum of money as well as the key to the remaining room. Social interaction is limited except with the main NPC. This is a really fun adventure, explorations, crazy effects traps abound in the dangerous house.
After defeating the toad, the party found that the tub contained the last of the enchanted moon stones which they placed in the frame of the picture and unlocked a hidden cache. The characters enter a manor deformed by the experiments of wizard on a Wand of Wonder. The first session will be character creation. This map is meant for characters level 1 to 3. Its meant to be a spooky quest, but it probably wont scare you very much. This quest revolves around investigating a manor and getting rid of its curse. Searching the bathtub, the adventurers were ambushed by a giant toad, who they vanquished, but not without the rogue Hugo losing consciousness. This is my first time DMing, and I need three people to play. It does not store any personal data.The next room the adventurers entered turned out to be a lavatory, in which indoor rain seemed to perpetually fall.
