The Arturia V Collection 7 requires Windows 7 or newer or Mac OS X 10.11 or newer. Here’s the complete list of what’s in the bundle: There is also a collection of 800 new presets called Synthopedia. Other new additions to V Collection 7 include new versions of the B-3 V and the Analog Lab software. What’s arguably its best feature, though: You can load your own samples and run them through the Mellotron V’s tape playback emulation. Needless to say, Arturia’s emulation of the tape keyboard comes with all the flutes, strings, choirs, and other Mellotron classics. I’m actually surprised that they didn’t do this sooner, especially since emulations of other electro-mechanical instruments like the B3 organ and Wurlitzer have been part of the V Collection for a long time. V Collection 7 also includes the Mellotron V. I haven’t heard Arturia’s version yet, but the fact that there’s no risk of losing the tiny pins alone made this an ideal candidate for the V Collection. With its unique patchbay, which uses small pins instead of cables, the Synthi is a modular synth with three oscillators in a very compact case. Arturia Synthi VĪnother new addition is the Synthi V, an emulation of the EMS Synthi A. So it’s only fair that Arturia has set out to model them alongside the DX7. These budget synths from the 1980s never really made it out of the DX7’s shadow during their time, but it’s no secret among synth geeks that their phase distortion synthesis is actually a blast to play with, and they’re now highly sought-after. And it’s this segment of the V Collection that sees a promising new addition: The CZ V, an emulation of the Casio CZ-101 and CZ-1000. Later, they began to add emulations of iconic digital instruments like the Synclavier and DX7. And of course, all of the classics like the Minimoog V, ARP 2600 V, Prophet V, and SEM V are still there in V Collection 7. Emulations of classic analog and digital synthesizers were what got Arturia started, long before the company expanded to controllers and hardware synths like the MiniBrute and MicroFreak.
